Biographies of ICIA Officers

Liu Zhaoping
ICIA Executive Chairman

Executive Vice Chairman of the China Culture Administration Association
Mr. Liu has been engaged in painting and calligraphy for over 30 years. His representative works include the comic strip of the Story of Horse Head String Instrument and the traditional Chinese painting Mother's Entrust. He has participated in National Arts Expos for many times and has been awarded the First Prize and Design Award on National Youth Newspaper excellent works. He has presided over many international cultural exchange activities such as "Chinese Contemporary Arts Exhibition in Memory of Andersen", "Arts Trip from the Great Wall to Olympia -Turin Winter Olympics Chinese Traditional Arts Exhibition", "Passionate China - Gathering in Moscow", and "Lovely China - Teenager Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition" etc. He is also Dean of the Chinese Traditional Cultural Administration Academy, Chairman of China Painting and Calligraphy Association, Judge of CCTV national youth painting and calligraphy competition, Deputy Director of National Organizing Committee and Secretary-General of the Judging Committee of the "Lovely China -Teenager Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition".


Patrick Humphreys
ICIA International Chairman

Professor Patrick Humphreys is Partner in the Mediterranean Community (www.mediterraneancom.org) and Director of the London Multimedia Lab for Audiovisual Composition and Communication (www.londonmultimedia.org). He is also Emeritus Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Director at LSE of the EU FP7 Project “CADIC, Cross-enterprise ,'Evaluation and Development of Intellectual Capital (www.cadic-europe.org). Previously he directed the project “Creative Partnerships: Pathways to Value” for the Arts Council England and leads the RTD team for the European Union’s Framework 6 Project “InCaS: Intellectual Capital Statement, Europe”.
He is responsible for the LML’s joint initiative with Zen Zone Media Lab, Beijing on “Spritivity Workshops”. He has expertise in innovative and creative decision-making, multimedia case study production and decision support for the collaborative authoring of outcomes.
He has led a variety of projects on Small and Medium Enterprise improvement and industrial sector development, enhancement of resources for health, culture, development, and networking in local, national and International contexts. He has been involved in initiatives involving organizational transformation and sector development in many countries.
He is chair of IFIP’s Working Group on Decision Support Systems. In 2006 he was programme chair for the IFIP WG8.3 conference on Creativity and Innovation in Decision making and Decision Support and was a sponsor of the workshop “Live dialogues between different individuals and alternative urban models in the Pearl River Delta” coordinated by Vitamin Creative Space, Guangzhou.He is the author of the Amfilissos flow grid (www.amfilissos.org).
Patrick Humphreys is Co-Editor (with Frederic Adam) of the Encyclopedia of Decision Making and Decision Support Technologies (IGI Global, 2009). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Industry and Commerce, and a Director of Papertronic Ltd and Spritivity Worldwide Ltd.


Leif Edvinsson
Chair, ICIA International Advisory Group

Professor Edvinsson is a key pioneering contributor to both the theory and practice of Intellectual Capital. As the world’s first director of IC in 1991 he initiated the creation of the world's first public corporate Intellectual Capital Annual Report 1994, and inspired the development ever since on IC metrics. He was parallel to that prototyping the Skandia Future Centre as a Lab for Organisational design, one of the very first in the World in 1996, and inspired many to be followed.

During 1996 he was recognised with awards from the American Productivity and Quality Centre, USA and Business Intelligence, UK. In January 1998, Leif received the prestigious Brain Trust "Brain of the Year" award, for his pioneering work on IC. In 1999 noted as Most Admired Knowledge Award on Knowledge Leadership. He was also awarded The KEN Practitioner of the Year 2004, from Entovation International, where he also is an E 100. In 2006 also listed in a book by London Business Press, as one of The 50 Most influential Thinkers in the World. He is listed in Who’s Who in the world. Also associate member of The Club of Rome. He is also Cofounder and Chairman of The New Club of Paris, focused on the Knowledge Economy initiatives.

Professor Leif Edvinsson has his education from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and Lund University, Sweden. He is the author of numerous articles on the service management and on Intellectual Capital. In March 1997, together with Michael S. Malone, he launched one of the very first books on Intellectual Capital. He is also special advisor on Societal Entrepreneurship to the Swedish Governmental Foundation for Competence and Knowledge Development, as well as on Service Science to the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation. He is co founder of Intellectual Capital Sweden AB.

Leif is serving on the Board of Directors of several knowledge intensive enterprises among others earlier the Swedish Brain Research Foundation as well as for many years the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2000 he has been the Honorary Chairman of the UK based Henley College, KM Forum. Since 2000, he has been Professor, adjunct at Lund University on Intellectual Capital. In January 2006, he was also appointed professor adj. at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and later promoted to Chair Professor in 2007. In 2009 also appointed Guest Professor at Jiaotong University, Xian, China
