In 2007, The LML team ran a SAIn 2007, The LML team ran a Spritivity shadow puppet workshop for Chinese school children

aferwards, the participants in this workshop were able to see how those shadow puppets were made and to explore what they were interested in communicating with their aid to their anam caras.

So the kids get to know characters from the old days. These old characters are actually sprites as well but they last thousands of years

So through these activities they get to know what shadow puppets were made, and get to know them as friends, but in the end they need to produce their own sprites and express what matters to them – what they like the most.

This is also a process for them to observe their context environment

Each kid can talk to other kids as anam caras about their sprites – in anam cara interaction context involving their own sprites, so this is an anam cara story developing process

So the anam cras participating in this workshop not only made sprite stickers, they made agentic toys out of the sprites as well, and they exchanged sprites

So they made their sprites into puppets and they performed a shadow puppet show

In this picture the middle sprite – the “mad doctor” and the “banana” sprite come from London,
So they are putting together a story-script from sprites that come form different places. They put them together (mise en scene) and develop their own story-line

So the children are performing the puppets – they themselves are actors and actresses as well.

the workshop put patricipants in the middle as interesting aman cara not only see the story they put out, we also see them [the kids] as well

So this concerns their ansam cara teamwork rather than how well they perform

This is when they develop their story lines that they put out on each scene


The process starts with the sprite itself, later on joined with other sprites that the kids exchange with each other

The way we perform the shadow puppets is a traditional craftsmanship, but the sprites are today’s samancara
